Why this combination

Why Duplex 2205 in bars

Yield strength about 450 MPa: roughly twice that of SS 316LPREN about 34–35Excellent resistance to chloride SCCMagnetic; service generally limited to about 280–300 °C

Shafts and stems in seawater and chemical pumps benefit from roughly double the yield strength of SS 316 with better crevice resistance.

Heavy bar for forgings is often ultrasonically tested.
