In short: since 15 July 2026 the UK–India trade agreement removes UK tariffs on 99% of product lines, while new UK steel measures from 1 July 2026 run alongside it through quotas. Bright Tubes supplies stainless, duplex, nickel alloy and Cr-Mo pipe, fittings and flanges to UK fabricators, energy and process plants, with EN 10204 certificates.

North Sea specifications to check

NORSOK M-650 qualifies manufacturers of special materials such as duplex, super duplex, 6Mo austenitic and nickel alloys.

NORSOK M-630 material data sheets set the chemistry, testing and certification for those materials.

If your order cites them, we source only from mills holding the relevant M-650 qualification and say so on the quotation.

Offshore

North Sea orders often cite NORSOK

Norwegian NORSOK standards are widely used on UK continental shelf projects as well. Super duplex and 6Mo bought for offshore seawater, firewater and produced-water systems typically need a NORSOK-qualified mill and impact testing at low temperature. Compare 2205 vs 2507.

UK buyer questions

Answers for UK buyers

Does pipe for UK pressure systems need UKCA marking?

Pressure equipment and assemblies above 0.5 bar fall under the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.[1][2] The UK has extended recognition of CE marking indefinitely for many products, alongside UKCA.[1] Pipe, fittings and flanges are normally supplied as materials with EN 10204 certificates; marking of the finished equipment is the manufacturer's responsibility.

When did the UK–India trade deal start?

It was signed in July 2025 and entered into force on 15 July 2026. The UK removes tariffs on 99% of product lines.[3][5]

How do the UK's 2026 steel measures affect Indian pipe?

From 1 July 2026 the UK cut steel import quotas and set a 50% tariff on specified steel above quota. India's concerns were addressed through a country-specific quota, residual quota and an authorised-use scheme, reported to cover about 85% of its steel shipments.[4][5] Confirm the current position for your commodity code with your broker.

Which certificates do UK buyers expect?

EN 10204 3.1 as standard, 3.2 with a notified body or third-party inspector for critical service, and PMI for alloy material. See reading a 3.1 certificate.

Which UK ports do you ship to?

Felixstowe and London Gateway for the south-east, Southampton, Liverpool and Teesport for the north, and Aberdeen or Grangemouth for Scottish energy work.
