Why this combination

Why SS 347 in tubes

Niobium-stabilised: Nb ≥ 10×CExcellent resistance to intergranular corrosion after weldingGood creep and stress-rupture strengthStandard filler for stabilised grades (ER347)

Thin-wall tube assemblies with many welds benefit from niobium's stability in the weld.

For utility superheaters, the creep grade SS 347H is used instead.
