SAILHARD hardness grades
| Nominal class | Typical hardness | Generic class page |
|---|---|---|
| SAILHARD 200 BHN | ≈ 200 – 250 HBW | 200 BHN Wear Plate |
Typical applications
- Chute and hopper liners
- Conveyor skirt boards
- Bunker and silo linings
- Sugar-mill and coal-handling equipment
- Agricultural implements
Cutting, bending and welding
Follow the mill's recommendations for minimum bend radius, preheat and welding consumables. Use low-hydrogen fillers, control heat input, and avoid overheating cut edges, which can soften the plate.
Supply from Bright Tubes

Frequently asked questions
Which SAILHARD grades do you supply?
SAILHARD 200 (nominal hardness classes), in the thicknesses available from the mill.
Are SAILHARD plates the same as generic AR plates of the same hardness?
They belong to comparable nominal hardness classes, but chemistry, toughness, thickness range and guaranteed properties differ between mills. Compare datasheets rather than assuming equivalence.
Can SAILHARD plates be cut to size?
Yes. Plates can be supplied cut to size or profile-cut to drawing.
