Why SS 321H in tubes

Carbon 0.04–0.10% with Ti stabilisationCoarse grain (ASTM No. 7 or coarser) for creepHigher allowable stresses than SS 321 at temperatureCommon in refinery and boiler service

Fired-heater tubes in refineries combine creep, cyclic operation and shutdown exposure; SS 321H covers all three.

For utility superheaters, SS 347H tube is often chosen for its higher creep strength.
