Abu Dhabi's sour gas developments combine hydrogen sulphide, carbon dioxide and chloride brine, so wetted parts move from carbon steel to corrosion-resistant alloys and clad pipe. Hail & Ghasha alone was expected to need around 50,000 tonnes of clad and other CRA pipe.[6]
Desalination is moving to reverse osmosis at very large scale: the Taweelah RO plant is rated at 909,200 m³ of water a day.[7] High-pressure seawater lines need super duplex or 6Mo, while thermal plants and steam systems still run on P91 and P22.

UAE buyer questions
Bright Tubes supplies stainless steel, duplex, nickel alloy, carbon and alloy steel pipes, tubes, plates, fittings, flanges and fasteners to UAE buyers. Material ships from ready stock or approved mills to Jebel Ali, Khalifa Port, Fujairah or Khor Fakkan, with EN 10204 3.1 certificates and 3.2 inspection on request.
The UAE applies the GCC common customs tariff, generally 5% of the CIF value, and 5% import VAT on top.[1] Goods held inside a free zone are not charged duty until they enter the mainland. Material of Indian origin may qualify for reduced duty under the UAE–India CEPA if it meets the rules of origin.[3]
Iron and steel tariffs are being phased out under CEPA, but only for goods that meet its rules of origin. Several steel products must be melted and poured in India to qualify, and the importer needs a valid CEPA certificate of origin.[4] Mill-sourced material from outside India does not qualify, so tell us at enquiry stage if you plan to claim preference.
Yes, for mainland imports above AED 10,000. The consignee attests the invoice through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' eDAS system; the fee is AED 150 per invoice.[2] We issue invoices in the format your broker needs.
Direct container services between India's west coast and Jebel Ali take about five days at sea.[8] Add time for booking, customs clearance and inland delivery. Stock items are dispatched after inspection and documentation; mill items carry a lead time we confirm with each quotation.
We supply to the project specification your EPC contractor or ADNOC company issues, including NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliance for sour service, EN 10204 3.2 certificates and PMI. Vendor registration and In-Country Value (ICV) certification sit with the UAE entity that contracts with ADNOC; our documentation supports their submission.[5]
Super duplex 2507 and 6Mo 254 SMO for high-pressure seawater, cupro-nickel 90/10 for condensers and coolers, and titanium where chlorinated seawater runs hot. SS 316L is not recommended for warm Gulf seawater; see why SS 316L fails in seawater.
