Fasteners
Industrial fasteners (stud bolts, hex bolts, heavy hex nuts and washers) hold flanged and structural joints together. Bright Tubes supplies ASTM A193, A194 and A320 bolting in alloy steel, stainless steel, duplex, nickel alloys and titanium.

Frequently asked questions
What is a stud bolt?
A threaded rod without a head, fitted with a nut on each end. It's the standard bolting for pipeline flanges.
Why use heavy hex nuts on flanges?
Heavy hex nuts are thicker and wider across flats than regular hex nuts, which suits the high preloads and larger wrench bearing surfaces needed in pressure bolting.
Are washers needed with stud bolts?
Not always. Many flange joints use none, but hardened washers are used with controlled-tightening and tensioning methods, and where specified.
