Non-Ferrous Metals Bars
Bars are solid long products in round, hexagonal, square and flat sections, supplied hot-rolled, forged, peeled or cold-drawn (bright). They're machined into shafts, fasteners, valve and pump parts, fittings and flanges.

Non-Ferrous Metals bars by grade
| Grade | Specification | Key characteristic | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Titanium Grade 1 Bars | ASTM B348 / ASME SB348 | Lowest-strength, most formable CP titanium | Plate heat-exchanger plates |
| Titanium Grade 2 Bars | ASTM B348 / ASME SB348 | Most widely used CP titanium | Condenser and heat-exchanger tubes |
| Titanium Grade 3 Bars | ASTM B348 / ASME SB348 | Higher strength than Grade 2 | Pressure vessels and heat-exchanger shells |
| Titanium Grade 4 Bars | ASTM B348 / ASME SB348 | Highest-strength CP titanium | Airframe and aero-engine components |
| Titanium Grade 5 Bars | ASTM B348 / ASME SB348 | Ti-6Al-4V alpha-beta alloy | Aerospace structures and engine parts |
| Cupro-Nickel 90/10 Bars | ASTM B151 | Standard for seawater piping | Ship and offshore seawater piping |
| Cupro-Nickel 70/30 Bars | ASTM B151 | About 30% nickel | Power-station condenser tubes |
| Copper Bars | ASTM B187 | Highest conductivity of common metals | Heat-exchanger and condenser tubes |
| Brass Bars | ASTM B16 / B21 | Admiralty brass for condenser tubes | Condenser and heat-exchanger tubes |
| Aluminium Bars | ASTM B211 / B221 | About ⅓ of the density of steel | Marine hulls and superstructures (5083) |
How non-ferrous metals bars are made, sized and tested
How it's madeBillets are hot-rolled or forged to size, then heat treated (annealed, solution treated, or quenched and tempered) and finished by descaling, peeling, turning, cold-drawing or centreless grinding for bright bar with tight tolerance.
- Size range
- Round bars about 3 – 500 mm diameter; hex 6 – 100 mm A/F; square and flat sections to order; lengths 3 – 6 m random or cut to size
- Finish
- Black (hot-rolled), peeled, bright drawn, centreless ground and polished (h9 / h11 tolerance)
- Ends
- Saw-cut, chamfered on request
Testing & documents
- Chemical and mechanical tests
- Ultrasonic testing for internal soundness
- Hardness, IGC and impact tests as specified
- Straightness and tolerance checks
- EN 10204 3.1 certificate; 3.2 with third-party inspection
