Non-Ferrous Metals
Non-ferrous metals solve problems steel can't: titanium for seawater immunity and light weight, cupro-nickel for seawater piping, copper and brass for heat exchangers and conductivity, and aluminium for lightweight structures. Bright Tubes supplies all of them in pipes, tubes, plates, sheets, bars and fittings.
Non-Ferrous Metals grades
Titanium
Commercially pure titanium (Grades 1–4) and Ti-6Al-4V alloy (Grade 5): light, strong and immune to corrosion in seawater and oxidising chlorides.
- Titanium Grade 1the softest, most ductile commercially pure titanium, with the lowest oxygen content and excellent formability and corrosion resistance.
- Titanium Grade 2the workhorse commercially pure titanium, combining moderate strength, good weldability and outstanding corrosion resistance in seawater, chlorides and oxidising media.
- Titanium Grade 3a higher-strength commercially pure titanium, used where more strength than Grade 2
- Titanium Grade 4the strongest commercially pure titanium, used for airframe, marine and medical parts needing high strength with CP-titanium corrosion resistance.
- Titanium Grade 5the most widely used titanium alloy, with aluminium and vanadium giving about three times the strength of CP titanium at 4.43 g/cm³.
Cupro-Nickel
Copper-nickel alloys 90/10 and 70/30: the classic materials for seawater piping, condensers and heat exchangers, with natural biofouling resistance.
- Cupro-Nickel 90/10a copper-nickel alloy with iron and manganese, the standard material for seawater piping and condenser tubes because of its corrosion and biofouling resistance.
- Cupro-Nickel 70/30
Copper
High-conductivity and deoxidised copper for heat exchangers, plumbing, refrigeration and electrical applications.
Brass
Copper-zinc alloys, including admiralty and naval brass, for condenser tubes, fittings, marine hardware and machined parts.
Aluminium
Aluminium alloys (1xxx, 3xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx) for lightweight structures, marine, transport, cryogenic and heat-exchanger applications.

Frequently asked questions
Titanium or cupro-nickel for seawater?
Titanium offers the longest life and highest velocity tolerance. Cupro-nickel is economical with natural biofouling resistance.
Which aluminium alloy is used for marine applications?
5083 (Al-Mg) is the standard for hulls and marine structures.
How many non-ferrous metals grades do you supply?
10 grades and products, in 13 product forms: pipes, tubes, plates, sheets, coils, bars, fittings, flanges, angles, channels, bolts, nuts, washers.
Which standards apply to non-ferrous metals?
Do you export worldwide?
Yes: to the GCC, Southeast Asia, Europe, the USA, the UK and beyond, with export packing and documentation.
