Why Incoloy 800 in tubes

Fe-Ni-Cr: bridges stainless and nickel alloysGood oxidation and carburisation resistanceBetter chloride SCC resistance than 300-seriesStandard grade for service below about 600 °C

Heating-element sheaths and exchanger tubes run hot in air or process gas; 800 resists oxidation and carburisation there.

For nuclear steam generators, 800 variants have been used in some designs.
