Hastelloy Alloys
Nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys for the most aggressive chemical environments: mixed acids, wet chlorine, hypochlorites and chloride-rich process streams.
Hastelloy grades
- Hastelloy C22Hastelloy C22 (Alloy C22, UNS N06022) is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with outstanding resistance to both oxidising and reducing media, pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride SCC.
- Hastelloy C276Hastelloy C276 (Alloy C276, UNS N10276) is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium-tungsten alloy with exceptional resistance to a wide range of severe chemical environments, including hot contaminated mineral acids, wet chlorine and hypochlorites.
Hastelloy grades compared
| Grade | UNS | Density | Key trait | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hastelloy C22 | N06022 | 8.69 g/cm³ | Resists both oxidising and reducing media | Pharmaceutical and fine-chemical reactors |
| Hastelloy C276 | N10276 | 8.89 g/cm³ | About 16% Mo, 15.5% Cr, 3.7% W | Chemical reactors and heat exchangers |
